I wanted to have another political post this week, but the one I’m currently working on is morphing and growing and so in the interest of publishing something, let me publish some recommendations from the past month or so.
Pay for some news.
Since this is my first recommendations newsletter, let me start off with my number one recommendation. If you’re not paying for news, start. Whatever your political leaning, whatever you’re interested in, there’s a publication that can satisfy your interests. And substack is a great place to find something. But also think about your local paper.
Listen to this conversation between Josh Barro and Matt Yglesias.
Josh Barro writes Very Serious and Matt Yglesias writes Slow Boring. I subscribe to both, so this was like a dream conversation for me.
Watch F1: Drive to Survive
It’s on Netflix and it’s amazing. There’s nothing else to say.
Read this article.
It’s specifically about the word trauma and it’s overuse. But I think it applies to many words, ideas, phrases. I specifically think the word “racist” has lost a lot of meaning because of overuse. Basically the internet sucks.
That’s all for this week. Thanks for subscribing.
